Canada Day 2015 in Markham
One of the holidays we most look forward to is Canada Day – a great time to get together with friends and family and the community and share in some good old national pride.
Markham's best Canada Day celebration WITH AWESOME FIREWORKS is clearly the one happening at Milne Dam Conservation Area map (Park Area) from 3:00 - 11:00 pm.
There are loads of fun things for the kids to do, including face painting, a magician and more. There will also be food, live entertainment and displays.
Then the People’s Parade starts at 4PM. Enjoy colourful floats, dancers, entertainers and much more. Children can paint their faces, dress up, decorate their bikes or wagons and join the parade (meet at 3 p.m. in southeast corner of Markville Shopping Centre).
Make sure you are there for 4:30PM to join in the flag-raising ceremony and to put your hand over your heart and sing O Canada.
Fireworks begin shortly after dusk (10PM) but leave your own at home and just enjoy the show.
Parking & Shuttle:
There is no public parking at Milne Dam Conservation Area. FREE parking is available at Markville Shopping Centre, which is open from 11 AM to 6 PM (you can even get a little shopping in!) Park only in the southeast lot (at McCowan and Hwy 7) and catch the shuttle bus. The bus will run from 12 noon - 3:45 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. - midnight. After Markville Shopping Centre closes at 6 PM, parking is available anywhere in the lot.
Bike Valet
Go green & ride your bike to the celebrations! The City of Markham has a Bike Valet that will help keep it safe. Valet operates from 2 PM to 7 PM from the Milne Dam Conservation Area (Park Area) across from the Main Stage.
